Animal print: it can be polarising, maybe even a tad intimidating, but once you master the art of styling it, this luxurious evergreen print is an excellent way to add fun and energy to an outfit. Here at habbot, we're huge fans of leopard. Whether it's worn head-to-toe for full impact, or for a pop of personality through a simple accessory, this pattern brings us so much joy! Our new spring summer range includes three stunning leopard styles that we know you're going to love wearing as the weather warms up.
Whilst we don't generally prescribe to fashion "rules", we know that animal prints can be a beast unto themselves, so we've pulled together our top do's and don'ts for how to wear leopard print - to help you look and feel great as you embrace your inner feline!
DO
Start Slow
If you're more animal print amateur than aficionado, or you're hesitant to go all out with a major wardrobe piece, just start slowly. Work a little leopard into your look with accessories. Opt for white, black or tan, then elevate with a scarf, shoe, headband or clutch. Classic, chic, and simple to execute!
Play With Textures
Whether you're dressing up or going casual, animal prints are fun and flirty, so match that energy with the rest of your ensemble. Experiment by combining your leopard print with different textures. A sequined skirt, a fluffy cardigan, a leather blazer or distressed denim can change the overall aesthetic of your ensemble in an instant!
Consider It A Neutral
Although it may seem flamboyant, leopard print is actually just two of fashions most perennial shades: black & brown. These neutral hues can easily be worn with every colour combination and pattern. Dip your toe into the leopard look by using it as a neutral base all-year-round.
DON'T
Don't Restrict It To One Season
Leopard print loves bright colours, so it's sublime for spring and summer, but we cant go past a plush full-length coat or an elegant loafer for autumn or winter. Don't restrict your leopard items to certain times of year - it's a trend that works for all temperatures and every season.
Don't Be Afraid Of Colour
Leopard print pairs perfectly with bright colours like pink, red, green and blue. If you like wearing your confidence on the outside and standing out from the crowd, then colour clashing can be a whole load of fun. Even just a strong red lip with a leopard outfit is a killer combo (hello, Shania Twain!).
Don't Overthink It!
Who are we to tell you how to dress anyway?! Rules are made to be broken. Pattern-on-pattern, leopard-on-leopard, colour-clash - if you're feeling it, try it out. Your own unique style is a beautiful thing!
